There’s a lot of talk about Vitamin D3 lately. And, unfortunately, many medical doctors still believe that Vitamin D3 in large doses can be toxic to humans. But there doesn’t seem to be any evidence to prove that. In fact, it’s just the opposite.
What am I talking about? Research is now showing that breast cancer, prostate cancer, inflammatory diseases, heart disease, osteoporosis, and even Alzheimer’s can be dramatically affected by Vitamin D3. Why has it been so difficult to find this information and can it really be true?
First, what is Vitamin D3? It’s cholecalciferol, which is the naturally occurring form of vitamin D. It’s synthesized naturally in the skin by the ultraviolet B rays of the sun. Vitamin D3 is the real thing! But most of us don’t get the amount we need from the sun because we have been told to stay out of the sun.
In my new book, How I Beat Skin Cancer, which will be out soon, I will go into greater detail about the exciting research being done on vitamin D3 and what it can do to prevent and even get rid of disease states we thought it was impossible to cure.
In The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Vol. 79, No 3, 362-371, March 2004, Michael Holick stated that “Studies in both human and animal models add strength to the hypothesis that the unrecognized epidemic of Vitamin D deficiency worldwide is a contributing factor of many chronic debilitating diseases.” He talks specifically about cancer, type 1 diabetes, heath disease, and osteoporosis. He also mentions that fibromyalgia is often actually misdiagnosed vitamin D deficiency.
In fact, vitamin D deficiency is now considered an epidemic in this country!
Believe it or not, many American doctors have the opinion that vitamin D can be toxic. But according to Dr. Reinhold Vieth of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Toronto, there is no hard evidence that there are any adverse effects under 10,000 IU daily.
I reasoned that, after being sick for years with chronic fatigue, no stamina, osteoporosis and finally skin cancer, and after doing everything I was told to do by physicians, naturopaths and alternative therapists, why not do the research and take the larger amounts of vitamin D3 to make sure I was going to finally be well. My win over skin cancer was my awakening to the power of vitamin D3 and its relation to a certain kind of calcium, both of which are responsible for my recovery.
My book will go into more detail as to why I am challenging the amount of vitamin D3 we really need to have optimum health. The RDA is woefully inadequate for most people and especially for those with chronic illnesses. When you read why this was kept from the American people, you will want to make certain you don’t make the same mistake.
I have become a “fighter” for perfect health using natural solutions as much as possible. I am not saying we don’t need doctors for many things. It is just that I have learned that all over the world people are winning over major degenerative problems using solutions that we in the US don’t know about and I want to tell everyone.
